Shame on them for putting him to sleep :( They should have tried to find a home. And the woman said she loved him and misses him. What a crock!!!!!This story made me so upset. I guess if the dachshund was never taught any bite inhibition, and the lady had no feeling or reaction when he was chewing on it, I could probably see that happening. Lord knows they chew up everything else & can chew a rawhyde & other bones apart.......(((shudder))) gives me the heebs just thinking about it.
