Greetings to all …

I actually stumbled upon this wonderful site, by accident, at work this morning. Our email was down, so I just began to go through the web … then Hotdog appeared!

We are a family of four … the mom, the dad, and our two boys - Wolfie (a Wirehaired Standard Dachshund, almost and Ludwig (a Longhaired Standard Dachshund, age 4, who ended up being a rescue … so far, his vet bills are in the $19K range, but, he is worth every penny, and our vets know that if he gets to the point he is in too much pain/misery they must tell us).

I’ve had dachshunds since 1976 … Freda, Honeydrop, Fred, Schatzi, Rudi, Wolfie and Ludwig. Schatzi actually turned out to be my little Service Dog - she would let me know before I had a seizure by destroying a pair of shoes, by the front door! (Obviously, once this was discovered, shoes that were either very old/worn or from the 80% off tables at Wal*Mart were left by the door!)

I’ve also owned several other breeds, but have never gone away from dachshunds … they are just the best.

It will be great fun to be a part of this group!! More soon … Dackelmommy
