Doxies - What tricks have you taught your hooman?
My brudder and I have our Mommy totally wrapped around our paws. It hasn’t been easy training her. Hoomans aren’t quite as smart as us doxies, but we love her and try to be patient. So far, she has learned how to totally spoil us with hugs and kisses (not to mention treats and bones), understands that the big bed is really ours but we’re willing to share it with her, and knows that the reason she sits down is so that we can sit on her lap to cuddle. We reinforce her hard work with lots of kisses.
Mommy has learned 2 special tricks: sometimes she’ll hold our bone for us while we chew it. At bedtime, she has a glass of water on her nightstand right next to our bowl of water. Can’t have a thirsty doxie, you know!

To take us for a walk each day - she dares not skip a day!

I taught my furmummy to come running down when I bark! She still hasn’t learned that “rufff” means I want water while “rrruuuuf” means I wanna go out to pee. She still has to ask me what I want! Silly mummy.

Oh this is easy - and so is she. I will aggravate her with sharp yipes until she finds my ball and throws it. It works over and over until she tells me, “no more”.
But, the best trick I have taught my mom is to keep up with the Kleenex patrol, if you know what I mean.

I taught my mommy to let me in and out of the door whenever I wants it! I taught her to throw the ball when I wants it! And I taught her to go get the ball whenever I don’t feels like retrieving it! (I’m not a retriever, after all! I’m a doxie dog!) And bestest of all, she picks up my poop!

When I hold up a treat she begs, gets really excited, and then dances.
When I tell her to play dead (hold my hand like a gun) and yell bang she lays on her back, feet in the air and tail waggin’
When I say speak she barks.
She can also sit, high five, shake hands (right or left), and rolls over.
