I sit here day after day looking at all the beautiful faces & cry for my Sugar, it may sound foolish to post this but I need friends like you all to help me get through this grief.
I am not sure how long it has been since you lost your precious Sugar, but do you think opening your heart to another doxie would help you?
Our wonderful HDB member, Sherry, lost her precious doxie Duchess this year and she thought she could never be ready to get another doxie. But a situation presented itself where a doxie puppy was offered to her by a very generous person and she is now the very proud mama of a baby doxie named Gracie.
I think Sherry would be one of the first people to tell you that even though you will never forget your doxie who has passed, loving and giving another doxie a home is great medicine to heal the heart and make it happy again.
Thank you Betty & Baxter for your understanding and care to respond to my aid. I will take your advice. I wish you both good luck as you make this journy of moving. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon…
I’m so sorry for your loss of Sugar. Some people think that getting another dog won’t help, but adopting Blixa and April did ease the pain of missing my Reggie. It doesn’t mean that I have forgotten or replaced him - he will always have the center of my heart - but I think I’ve honored his memory by giving them a loving home.
I explained to St. Peter, I’d rather stay here, Outside the Pearly Gate. I won’t be a nuisance, I won’t even bark, I’ll be very patient and wait. I’ll be here chewing on a celestial bone, No matter how long you may be. I’d miss you so much, if I went in alone, It wouldn’t be Heaven for me…
Oh Spanky, that made me cry. Frances, you have friends here and we all understand. Many of us have been in the same boat. Find another doxie to give you love. You won’t regret it!

To My Master from Sugar
I explained to St. Peter,
I’d rather stay here,
Outside the Pearly Gate.
I won’t be a nuisance,
I won’t even bark,
I’ll be very patient and wait.
I’ll be here chewing on a celestial bone,
No matter how long you may be.
I’d miss you so much, if I went in alone,
It wouldn’t be Heaven for me…
