double dapple

ok how do i know if my little man is a dapple or a double dapple .. i was told that he was a blue and tan dapple .. but the more i read about doxis the more concerned i get that he may in fact be a double .. any advise .. thanks tytens mom..

Google characteristics of a Double Dapple Dachshund and that should give you the information you need.
Your vet may be able to tell you also.

Does he have a lot of white on his body? Can you post pics? If he doesn’t have hearing or sight problems I wouldn’t worry too much!

Just to add, I have looked at the pics on your profile and he doesn’t seem to be a DD to me. The light areas don’t seem to be white which they would be if he was a DD. Hearing and sight problems are normally caused if the white falls over the ears or head.

He looks like a blue and tan dapple to me.

he does have a white chest and down on to his tummy but no where else .. im just concerned i want to breed him but not if hes a DD.. i wouldnt want to take any chances with that .. ya know .. i have ive looked at at least 50 different DD pics and thats why i was getting concerned .. there was a chocolate DD that looked a lot like him so im just trying to be responsible and not purposely breed possibly disabled pups .. thats all.. and yes i have a ton of pics of him but my with my camera when i download them on here the files are huge so i have to figure out how to make them smaller .. i do have some pics of him before i got him .. but no up to date ones .. unfortunately … hopefully soon.. and the one of him being held you can see a little bit of the white.. on his chest..

He is a beautiful lil guy. I’m not to big on diagnosing color types ect. but reading what Bette posted from google…I don’t see any double dapple from the info they had to offer. I wouldn’t worry about it.. Take a good look at those pics on that google site & I think you’ll agree.

all right still didnt work i give up for now to late in the morning .. need sleep.. any way if you go to that site there is a little girl named coco pebbles.. thats the one im talking about .. i can see a small spot of white on her chest .. but she looks like mine..

Honestly I don’t think Coco pebbles is a DD either. I think the only way to tell for sure is when bred to a solid, all the puppies come out as dapples… If your dog has no hearing / sight problems there s nothing really wrong with being a DD.
